The Curriculum

The programme for Pre- Nursery, Nursery One and Two is based on various themes, which are presented through a combination of structured and unstructured play and hands on manipulative activities.

The children are introduced to English immediately to start them on their internalisation and use of everyday English in school. At Villa Grimani we use the curriculum, called Early Years Foundation Stage, (EYFS) used in Nursery schools in the UK, which consists of seven areas of learning and is adapted to meet the needs of the individual child. The classroom environment focuses on encouraging the children to develop confidence in acquiring new language and intellectual skills, through a variety of theme based activities, songs, stories and games.

The Early years staff keep ongoing assessments on your child’s progress throughout the academic year and you will receive a progress report at the end of each term.
