How we understand education

At Villa Grimani International School we intend to:

TO GIVE our students the opportunity to communicate with people of different nationalities and cultures through the use of the world's most widely spoken language, English. To achieve this goal, we employ qualified and experienced native-speaking teachers.

DEVELOP knowledge, understanding, and respect for world cultures, maturing intellectually, socially, and physically to pursue studies and successfully integrate into the cultural and economic fabric.

ENHANCE individual potential while respecting each individual developmental process, accompanying the child until completion of their studies.

PROMOTE awareness of reality through participation in shared activities and gradually having our children take on responsible roles to best express their creativity.

ENSURE the learning of the Italian language together with a strong sense of international solidarity, placing our culture within a global European framework.

ENCOURAGE each student, through all school initiatives, to broaden their interests to the fullest extent of their personal capabilities.

TO INTRODUCE the values of honesty, collaboration, and mutual understanding, considering the school community as a training ground for life, where these values are consolidated.

COLLABORATE with teachers and families to create a serene, ever-growing environment for children, in synergy and agreement with all school stakeholders.

TO TRAIN future men and women capable of moving and developing with ease in the international arena, rich in values and knowledge that will enable them to engage in fair and robust discussions within the international community.

Our international school aims to expose students to the advantages of both educational systems: the Anglo-Saxon and the Italian.

  1. Encouraging the acquisition of the pragmatism of the Anglo-Saxon world, today a leader in the economic, political, technological and scientific research world, and to develop the ability to organize and plan its path in the long term.

  2. Let's not lose sight of the creativity, the inventive ability to devise new solutions, and the flexibility of our Italian culture, today a leader in the world of art and style and the cradle of a rich historical past rooted in the classical and Roman world.

Particular emphasis is given to teaching the following contents:

  • Respect for oneself and others

  • Self-esteem

  • A high sense of responsibility

  • Civic sense

  • A good ability to interact and integrate with people and the environment around you and in which you operate

  • Good use of one's critical and evaluation skills regarding the limits and resources of the interlocutor and the environment in which one must operate

A wealth of knowledge, therefore, that can be used in the child's daily relationships with his or her emotional and social environment now and in the future in the social, family, and work contexts.

Another strong point of our educational project is based on the centrality of the student (his personality, his emotional sphere, the interests he manifests, the aptitudes, abilities and potential that characterize him) (see NUNAN D. 1993 The learner-centred curriculum – Cambridge University Press – text that elaborates on the concept of “learner-centred approach”), it is a teaching principle now established in all learning cycles and even more so in the first cycles of a child's school life.
