The library
The primary school has its own library stocked with books in English and Italian. Each week, children in Reception and above can take a book (in English) of their choice home to read and study with their families. The book must then be returned and exchanged for another text during the class's next visit to the library. Each child will also be frequently assigned various books from the Oxford Reading Tree. These books, sourced from the United Kingdom, are special books used to teach children how to read English. We encourage parents to listen to their children read these books and write their comments in the reading log, which is then reviewed by the teacher in class.
School uniform
Since September 2009, Villa Grimani has been using a school uniform. After careful consideration and research into the types of uniforms used in British schools, we believe we have found the perfect uniform that will give our students a sense of pride and belonging at Villa Grimani International School. All children must wear the full uniform every day during the week and the "Villa Grimani" tracksuit during physical education lessons.
Electronic register
In third, fourth, and fifth grades, teachers use an electronic register in each classroom. This useful tool is used both for daily roll calls and to record homework assignments and the dates and results of tests taken in class. Families can also access the electronic register, including through a convenient app, to regularly check their children's progress and homework.
